Saying Farewell to The Franklin: A Celebration of a Decade of Great Memories

After nearly a decade of shucking oysters and creating unforgettable moments on Fleet Street, The Franklin has made the difficult decision to close at the end of March. This decision wasn’t easy, but we are incredibly proud of all that we’ve achieved together and the strong bond we’ve formed with the Portsmouth community.

As a part of the JGroup Hospitality family, The Franklin has always been more than just a restaurant—it’s been a gathering place for friends, families, and oyster lovers alike. From the start, our goal has been to offer a welcoming environment where people could connect over great food and drinks. We are beyond grateful to our exceptional staff for their hard work and dedication in making The Franklin the beloved place it is today. We’re thrilled to share that many of them will continue with us at other JGroup Hospitality locations.

While we are closing our doors at The Franklin, it’s not goodbye just yet. We’re excited to host a final cocktail class and a farewell dinner to celebrate everything The Franklin has stood for over the years.
